Hotel management techniques put to the test of the internship
Welcome to the only Palace Rive Gauche in Paris. Near the Saint-Germain-Des-Prés district, opposite the Le Bon Marché department store, the Lutetia Hotel has been shining since its inauguration in 1910 and dominates Boulevard Raspail from its facades listed as Historic Monuments. Great personalities such as Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso, Joséphine Baker, Juliette Gréco or André Malraux had their habits there.

It is here that Fatouma Houssein Sciacaluga does her internship at the end of the third year of Bachelor of Hotel Management at the Luxury Hotelschool. “The Lutétia represents for me an emblematic place, rich in history, in which the French art of living is omnipresent.”
The Hotel Lutétia is the only Palace Rive Gauche in Paris, near the Saint-Germain-Des-Prés district.
“In the few months that I have been in the position of receptionist, I have been able to testify to my particularly rewarding experience. My main missions are to ensure the reception and departure of customers as well as daily invoicing. I also have to deal with emails from present and future customers. I am committed to personalizing each stay as soon as guests arrive in order to offer them an exceptional experience.”
Great personalities, such as Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso, Joséphine Baker, Juliette Gréco or André Malraux, had their habits at Lutétia, emblematic establishment of the capital.
“What I immediately liked was the team spirit that reigns within the establishment. At no time did I feel alone having to deal with a delicate situation. This benevolence forces motivation and the desire to give oneself 100% every day. My managers were able to quickly give me their confidence and great autonomy of work.”
“After a first experience in the world of luxury in my country of origin (Djibouti), I arrived in France in 2019. The Luxury Hotelschool gave me the opportunity to achieve much more than my dreams in this environment that I am passionate about. This internship at Lutétia gives me the opportunity to apply the lessons taught, in particular management and customer loyalty techniques.”
